No more dual citizenship

The bible says we are citizens of heaven and yet I think many of us try to live as dual citizens. It’s like the Israelites leaving Egypt.  It took 40 years to get Egypt out of the Israelites before they could enter the promised land.  The old country seems safe and comfortable, rationale and reasonable but was spiritually blind and full of fear.

Unity is not a halfway house

Unity is not a halfway house between two camps.  Unity is found in Christ in the same oneness He has with the Father.  As we become more like Christ so we can become one.

John 14 and 15

Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

15 “If you love me, keep my commands.

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

A call to arms / the hungry vs the satisfied

Yesterday Pat heard from the Lord a call to arms for the church is under attack. She was to share it with those who the Lord has identified.

As I was praying this morning I felt the battle lines are drawn separating the hungry from the satisfied.

We need to be lead by those who hunger for more of the Lord.

Win hearts, transform minds.

We need to pray that the Lord will change hearts and that more people will cross over from being the satisfied and become the hungry.

Lampa’s home is in the Lord’s bosom which he carries within him.

Yesterday, I met to pray with my two best friends in Christ (Lampa and Andy).  This followed a day of fasting.

During that time we had various words of encouragement for one another.

My friend Lampa is being tried and refined in the fire more than I have seen in anyone my whole life.  However, he is being called to prison ministry and must therefore be made ready to help those stuck in the valley of the shadow of death.  A few months ago I shared with him that I felt the Lord was giving him a new name, Torch Bearer, and that as he learned to navigate his own way out of the valley he now finds himself in so he will be able to enter into other people’s valleys to help them out.

Lampa shared last night that he believes he will carry a “financial” limp for the rest of his life following a difficult marriage – as per Jacob after wrestling with God.

As I was praying for him I felt God say that Lampa’s home (his place of safety and relief) is going to be found in the Lord’s bosom.  That he will have to put all his faith in God’s provision, love, comfort and peace.  That he will carry that home within him, through the Holy Spirit, and be able to invite others (who are homeless) to come and rest in that same home.

Andy – The Rescuer

Yesterday, I met to pray with my two best friends in Christ (Lampa and Andy).  This followed a day of fasting.

During that time we had various words of encouragement for one another.

I had a picture of Andy in a suit of armour – particularly when he stood up to act as God lead him.  At one point he came over and prayed over me drawing a cross on my forehead.  I felt that he had an incredible authority at that point.  I had a word for Andy as a “rescuer”.  That as he overcomes his own fears and feelings of inadequacy and steps up and into what God is leading him to then he will bring a rescuing word for people.

I shared that I thought the belt of truth was particularly important for him and that it would hold up the rest of the armour.

The following day I shared this:

Andy, I pray that you step more and more into the authority God has given you. Go with what God has put on your heart and do not allow the enemy to steal any more.

Trust (Faith). The joy of the Lord is my strength.
Hope. The joy of the Lord is my strength.
Love. The joy of the Lord is my strength.

You are to carry faith, hope and love and pour it out on those God assigns to you.

You are Rescuer.

Pull tight the belt of truth.

Old fears try to steal future identity

Following some deep reflection on a recent “slip” in my behavior (raising my voice whilst visiting friends and embarrassing my family) I had the following thought:

Old fears try to steal future identity

If we truly repent and want to put things right as a result we have to humble ourselves leaving no room for pride.

True humility has its eyes open to our true nature both with God and without God.  We must not forget the old self and our nature when sin was king.  The old self is dead but occasionally rears its ugly head and needs putting to death again.  The new self (our true identity) has been born again and is seated in the heavenly realms with Christ.  True humility reminds us that without Christ we would still be the old self but that with Christ we have a whole new identity.  There is a danger that we shift our confidence from Christ to our new perceived self (independence).  If we value (worship) how others see us then we are guilty of the sin of pride and have forgotten our former selves.

Stop trying so hard ….

On Thursday 12th April I went to the mid week Gathering meeting with Lampa.  At that time he was suffering with great frustration and angry at his circumstance and the potential delay on his calling that seemed to be imposed upon him from a disappointing source.

His frustration and anger kept overflowing and as I was praying for him I said out of my own seeming frustration with him,

“Stop trying so hard, you can’t give birth to yourself.”

It was one of those moments when I thought, “woah, where did that come from?”

I now believe it was from the Lord and it has proven to be a powerful word for Lampa during this difficult time.

ALIGNING WITH HEAVEN

This is a word shared with The Gathering in February 2018.

ALIGNING WITH HEAVEN
A Prophetic Word and Message for the Body of Christ in England –
2018

Significant take away:

 To tear down the idols of his father
 To build an altar to the Lord

WHEN WE ARE CALLED OR CALLED TO SOMETHING NEW we find that there will be IDOLS TO TEAR DOWN and AN ALTAR TO BUILD WHERE THE IDOLS HAVE BEEN.
– whether that be a natural line of heritage, cultural line of heritage, educational line of heritage, or church line of heritage.
– Actual idolatry, tradition, religion, cultural bondages, mindsets, intellectualism.

IDOLATRY is: anything that is placed where God should be; anything that has kept you from the Kingdom call; even hurts and disappointments. Gideon was given the instruction to build “an altar to the Lord” – not an altar for the sake of religiosity but a place of dedication, worship and sacrifice to Him alone. We are to build our lives as an altar to the Lord.

The Lord has shown me that there are many in this land who have been contained – with the same questions of the Lord as Gideon. In this new wineskin church there is a place for YOU – an assignment from heaven that no one else can fulfil. He has a strategy for you to enter that call. It will most certainly include “tearing down” and “building”. In the annals of this time God desires that your name and story be recorded in the present day Heroes of Faith. You just need to start out in the strength you have and allow Him to speak to you about what to “tear down” and what to “build”. If you have been “contained” and if you have been “in survival mode” (endeavouring to hold the ground you have taken…..I challenge you to seek the Father and hear His call to you and then obey His instructions to tear down and build an altar to Him. Enter your destiny for He is with you.

A good word from ODB that I am taking as further confirmation about the importance of the letter I am writing to church.
